Design Sprint Presentation

We did our design sprint presentation in class. It's about bar-code baggage claim. Other teams also presented in class, in various form, lofi-prototype, real props or slides. We commented to each other and record the feedback.
These are the questions and comments from me:



Team Meeting 04.13

We did a brainstorm of three aspects that we concern the most of and airport, baggage, navigation and trolleys. We thought it was helpful to us to create the concept maps.








Team meeting 04.16

We did a brainstorm about the criteria to evaluate all of our concepts. Weight each of the criteria and discussed about the significance of a criteria framework in design process.

After that, we discuss about how to conduct our user evaluation. We reached an agreement that the aim of the test is to gather users’ feedback, help us find the pain points of the concept and to improve it. We will perform it not just by introducing our concept and start asking questions, but to make our interviewees do actions with our product. We will try to evoke their memory of the airport and make them feel like they are using the product in a real context. To achieve this, we will use our lofi-prototype or the real object to simulate the real situations. Only after those stages will we ask the questions of their feelings and record the feedback.

1.We discussed and finished the concept map according to the discussion of all the concepts.









2.We divide the work to each of our group member. Apart from the individual work -- personas and concepts, Louis, Cathy and Clare are in charge of the document; Galo and Felix are in charge of the kickstarter video.

Team Meeting 04.23

Each of us introduced all four concepts to the group again, and conduct the process to choose the final concept according to the preset criteria framework.

There are seven aspects that we care about, which are listed below. Each criterion has its weight. Social, public, inventive and feasible weights 20%, while the each of other four weights 10% respectively.

Each of the criterion has five grades, ‘very poor’, ‘poor’, ‘average’, ‘good’, ‘excellent’, and the rubrics are listed below. We also introduce a 'pass/fail' rule for social, public, and inventive, which are the three criteria that we concern the most. Thereforewe set the rule that if a concept completely violate any of these three principles, in other words, if a concept get a 'very poor' grade at 'social', 'public' or 'inventive', we just dump it, no matter how high the grades are of other criteria.

Criteria Process
At the first stage, we discussed together to grade all the 20 concepts according to the criteria, then we dumped the ones who failed at the criteria of ‘social’, ’public’ and ’inventive’. Next, we calculated the total grades of concepts with the weights and work out the top five concepts. At the second stage, we discussed about if there were similarity between the five concepts. Finally, we decided the final concept for user evaluation.
